Vision & Experience

A dedicated career focused on shaping institutional strategy, driving academic excellence, and championing inclusive and sustainable environment across sectors.

As Vice Chancellor of Leeds Trinity University and formerly Pro-Vice Chancellor at the University of East London, I have dedicated my career to shaping institutional strategy and student success. My focus includes driving academic excellence, enhancing the student experience, and leading quality assurance across large, multi-disciplinary schools.

With a background in Quantity Surveying and a PhD in Construction Project Management, my research addresses the critical challenges of sustainable development and resilient communities. I have managed and authored 12 books focused on innovation and economics in the built environment.

During my presidency of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), I championed the 'Mental Wealth' initiative to tackle the stigma around mental health in construction. I continue to advocate for equality, diversity, and robust welfare policies to support the workforce in high-pressure industries.
